The group marked the high point of German Expressionism and had a profound influence on international art during the brief period from its formation to the beginning of the First World War.
The chronology of the paintings has been thoroughly revised and updated and each entry provides details of technique, provenance, exhibitions and literature.
All the paintings are illustrated, most of them in colour. The resulting volume is the ultimate reference work for art lovers, art historians and collectors and offers fresh insights into the work of Franz Marc and the Blue Rider group as a whole.
